About

History

With a passion for both community and law, my parents, E.J. and Shirley Petro, started Petro Reporting in Warsaw, Indiana in 1988.  Today we have a commemorative plaque with the first deposition job file hanging in our conference room as a reminder of how and why we began.  Shirley was the driving force and backbone of Petro Reporting from day one.  Man, she could smoke the keys off that old typewriter as fast as any lawyer could talk!  I still remember her fussing when they would talk too slow and she would have to pause and wait on them.

As the business grew and Mom and Dad neared retirement, I stepped in and launched the Fort Wayne office in the early 90s and it’s been full-steam ahead ever since.

As we approach 30 years of court reporting in Northeast Indiana, Petro Reporting is now based in Fort Wayne, but we continue to serve the entire region.  Michelle and I strive every day to make Petro Reporting a fun, dependable, and easy company to work with – and to work for.  We continue to invest in ever-changing technology in order to provide the best, most expedient and accurate services to our clients – now and for many years to come.

Let us know what you need and when you need it, and we will deliver.

For me, business has always been about relationships.  During my 20 years as an area manager for John Deere, I learned that if you take care of the people, then the business will take care of itself.  I have carried this philosophy over to Petro Reporting as well and it still holds true today.  I enjoy helping people and building relationships with our clients.

As a husband, father of two, and grandfather of three, nothing makes me happier than spending time with the people I love.  Faith, family, and friends are what matter the most to me.

One of the things I love about my job and Petro Reporting is the ability to connect and build relationships with people.  I truly enjoy working with people and helping them with their needs.

Between my job and my son, I don’t have a whole lot of down time.  But when I do, I’m usually at the barn working with my horses.  My dream is to travel with them and ride the trails throughout this beautiful country.

Family-owned since 1988.
